1Love righteousness, you⌃ that be judges of the earth, with a good mind, Gr. in goodness. 2Because he is found of those who tempt him not, 3For crooked thoughts separate from God; supreme Power, when it is brought to the proof, puts to confusion the foolish: Gr. convicts. 4Because wisdom will not enter into a soul that deviseth evil, 5For a holy spirit of discipline will flee deceit. put to confusion when unrighteousness has come in. Gr. convicted. 6For wisdom is a spirit that loves man, Some authorities read the spirit of wisdom is loving to man. blasphemer guiltless for his lips; Or, reviler 7Because the spirit of the Lord has filled the world, Gr. the inhabited earth. every voice. 8Therefore no man that utters unrighteous things will be unseen; Neither will Justice, when it convicts, pass him by. Some authorities read Nor indeed. 9For in the midst of his counsels the ungodly will be searched out; 10Because there is an ear of jealousy that listens to all things, 11Beware then of unprofitable murmuring, 12Court not death in the error of your life; 13Because God made not death; 14For he created all things that they might have being: the generative powers of the world Or, all the races of creatures in the world are healthsome, royal dominion upon earth, Or, a royal house 15For righteousness is immortal: 16But ungodly men by their hands and their words called death to them: Or, Hades Gr. him. consumed away, Or, were consumed with love of him
