1O death, how bitter is the remembrance of you to a man that is at peace in his possessions, 2O death, acceptable is your sentence to a man that is needy, and that fails in strength, 3Don’t be afraid of the sentence of death; 4And why do you refuse, when it is the good pleasure of the Most High? the grave. Gr. hades 5The children of sinners are abominable children, 6The inheritance of sinners’ children shall perish, 7Children will complain of an ungodly father, 8Woe to you, ungodly men, The remainder of this verse is omitted by the best authorities. 9If you⌃ be born, you⌃ shall be born to a curse; 10All things that are of the earth shall go back to the earth: 11The mourning of men is about their bodies: 12Have regard to your name; 13A good life has its number of days; 14My children, keep instruction in peace: 15Better is a man that hides his foolishness 16Wherefore show reverence to my word: 17Be ashamed of whoredom before father and mother: 18Of an offence before a judge and ruler; 19And of theft in regard of the place where you sojourn, 20And of silence before those who salute you; 21And of turning away your face from a kinsman; Or, the face of a kinsman 22Of being over busy with his maid; and come not near her bed; 23Of repeating and speaking what you have heard; 24So shall you be truly shamefast,
