Job 4

1Then Eliphaz the Temanite answered and said, 2If anyone tries to speak with you, will you be impatient? 3See, you have instructed many; 4Your words have supported him who was falling; 5But now trouble has come to you, and you are weary; 6Is not your fear your confidence, 7Think about this, please: Who has ever perished when innocent? 8According to what I have seen, those who plow iniquity 9By the breath of God they perish; 10The roaring of the lion, the voice of the fierce lion, 11The old lion perishes for lack of victims; 12Now a certain matter was secretly brought to me, 13Then came thoughts from visions in the night, 14It was at night when fear and trembling came upon me, 15Then a spirit passed before my face, 16The spirit stood still, but I could not discern its appearance. 17“Can a mortal man be more righteous than God? 18See, if God puts no trust in his servants; 19how much more is this true of those who live in houses of clay, 20Between morning and evening they are destroyed;
