1A wise son hears his father's instruction, 2From the fruit of his mouth a person enjoys good things, 3The one who guards his mouth protects his life, 4The appetite of lazy people craves but gets nothing, 5The righteous person hates lies, 6Righteousness protects those who are faultless in their path, 7There is someone who enriches himself, but has nothing at all, 8The ransom of a rich man's life is his wealth, 9The light of righteous people rejoices, 10Pride only breeds conflict, 11Wealth dwindles away when there is too much vanity, 12When hope is postponed, it breaks the heart, 13Whoever despises instruction brings destruction on himself, 14The teaching of a wise person is a fountain of life, 15Good insight wins favor, 16Prudent people act out of knowledge in every decision, 17A wicked messenger falls into trouble, 18The one who ignores instruction will have poverty and shame, 19A longing realized is sweet to the appetite, 20Walk with wise people and you will be wise, 21Disaster runs after sinners, 22A good person leaves an inheritance for his grandchildren, 23An unplowed field owned by the poor could produce much food, 24The one who does not discipline his son hates him,
