1Joshua the son of Nun was valiant in war, Gr. Nave. God’s elect, Gr. his. 2How was he glorified in the lifting up his hands, 3Who before him so stood fast? 4Did not the sun go back by his hand? 5He called upon the Most High and Mighty One, 6With hailstones of mighty power in the going down he destroyed those who resisted; See Joshua 10:11 armor, Gr. panoply. 7Also in the time of Moses he did a work of mercy, 8And of six hundred thousand people on foot, they two alone were preserved 9Also the Lord gave strength to Caleb, 10That all the children of Israel might see 11Also the judges, every one by his name, 12May their bones flourish again out of their place, 13Samuel, the prophet of the Lord, beloved of his Lord, 14By the law of the Lord he judged the congregation, 15By his faithfulness he was proved to be a prophet, 16Also when his enemies pressed him round about 17And the Lord thundered from heaven, 18And he utterly destroyed the rulers of the Tyrians, 19Also before the time of his long sleep Gr. age-long sleep. his anointed, 20And after he fell asleep he prophesied,
