Psalm 79

1God, foreign nations have come into your inheritance; 2They have given the dead bodies of your servants as food to the birds of the skies, 3They have shed their blood like water around Jerusalem, 4We have become a reproach for our neighbors, 5How long, Yahweh? Will you stay angry forever? 6Pour out your wrath on the nations that do not know you 7For they have devoured Jacob 8Do not hold the sins of our forefathers against us; 9Help us, God of our salvation, for the sake of the glory of your name; 10Why should the nations say, “Where is their God?” 11May the groans of the prisoners come before you; 12Pay back into the laps of our neighboring countries seven times as much
